Planning Proposal lodgement and community engagement
May
2022
Planning Proposal was lodged with North Sydney Council in May 2022, which seeks to amend the local environmental plan (LEP). The Planning Proposal sets parameters around future plans for the site and takes into account community feedback from Council's strategic process.
June - August 2022
Engagement with the community and Council in relation to our plans for Neutral Bay town centre. Following this we amended our Planning Proposal based off conversations with our neighbours to reduce the height.
September - December 2022
Council determined the proposal should not proceed, the North Sydney Planning Panel reviewed the decision and the amended proposal was formally submitted to Council for assessment.
Mid 2023
Planning Proposal expected to be placed on public exhibition. After the exhibition, Woolworths will review its plans and address all submissions from the community, key authorities and government agencies.
Late 2023
Woolworths will begin preparing a Development Application (DA) if the Planning Proposal is supported. The DA can take anywhere between 21-90 days for a decision to be made following lodgement with Council.
Woolworths will continue to seek feedback and keep the community informed at each stage of the planning process.
